Side Project

I was waiting to try out some new felt I got from Japan. I made these while I was taking a break from my normal work routine 🙂

Needle Felt Wool Sweets

Yen 1000

I always feel so inspired to try out projects from this book but currently do not have the supplies to do so. I love the way the artist arranges the small felt fruits on top on the cake bases to give the project a realistic look. Another great craft book with beautiful pictures, clear instructions and a reference to products that can be purchased on Japanese websites.

Note: Japanese site to buy felt goods from Shugeiya

Japanese Craft Book Review-Wool Felt Goods

Happy New Year to Everyone! I apologize for not updating my blog for so long. I am back to finishing up my reviews on Japanese Craft books.

Wool Felt Goods

This is a very cute and informative book on felting. The pictures in this book are great and the projects are inspiring.  Even for a complete felt beginner like me the few picture tutorials in this book are great to get started. The rest of the projects can easily be figured out by following the basic steps, such as wet felting some roving into a sheet.

Note: There is a great website listed on the back of this book from which you can order supplies. It is a Japanese site though, so you will need someone to help you out with the order! Otherwise, Superbuzzy has some Japanese felt supplies.

Miniature Box Completed

Finally finished the miniature box, will list on etsy tomorrow and hope someone buys 🙂 The bear hand puppet was my second attempt at needle felting and it was fun! I will definitely be trying more felting projects.
